The spirit of the Crow resurrects another man seeking revenge for the murder of his son.
Some time ago, Ashe Corven and his son Danny were killed when they stumbled across a pack of drug dealers murdering a fellow dealer. The dealers work for Los Angeles drug kingpin Judah Earl. Local tattoo artist Sarah, who has great knowledge of the crow legend because of what happened with her late friend Eric Draven, has been having dreams about Ashe and Danny. One night when a crow leads her to the scene of the murders of Ashe and Danny, Ashe appears before her. The crow has resurrected Ashe, so Ashe can go after Judah and his right hand man Curve. With the guidance of the crow, Ashe starts killing off Judah's men one by one, on his way to Judah.
I really enjoyed the first one. It was an exceptional movie with a unique plot and great action sequences. This one however is just a big mess compared to the first. It&#39;s not the change in characters that bothered me at all, or how different it was from the first, it was just a messy film with mediocre action sequences and flat, boring dialogue.<br/><br/>I was really hoping that this movie would be just as good as the first one, but the second one was a huge disappointment on my part and is a lot worse than the original. If the action sequences would be more refined, and the dialogue would not suck so bad, this movie would have hopefully been great. But it&#39;s not.<br/><br/>If you like the film, that&#39;s totally okay, I respect your opinions. I just didn&#39;t really like this.
Now, I would like to point out first of all, that this movie is NOT that bad. But no matter what you do, you always have the first movie, &quot;The Crow&quot; in the back of you mind for a couple of reasons: Many of the scenes are clear rip-offs of the first, I can&#39;t help but shake my head when these scenes crop up and know how much better it was done in the first &quot;Crow&quot; movie, The storyline is virtually the same, having someone come back from a horrible death and to kill those involved, to be reunited with a loved one and having The Crow guide you, but yet I still feel this movie did not do this storyline justice like the first one did so bloody well. The deaths are ridiculous, badly directed and not imaginative enough (The fight scene between him and Kali is laughable) and the dialog is poor. &quot;Ashe&quot; or &quot;The Crow&quot; himself is badly casted, yes, Vincent Perez is a good actor but in this role it does not suit.<br/><br/>There are some scenes however that are very well done, including the scene in which Iggy Pop gets murdered. The amount of potential this movie has is astounding, seeing these flashes of genius that never fully shine and the directing and the way it is shot are masterful in parts, but it was a missed opportunity.<br/><br/>I say buy/rent/somehow watch this movie and judge for yourself, but it is nothing compared to the first movie and as a movie on its own, it doesn&#39;t live up to its potential. It shouldn&#39;t have been made in my opinion, trying to fix a movie that was nowhere near broken, it seemed almost pointless.

Yes, it&#39;s the same character. Besides an omnipresent greenish filter the Director&#39;s Cut features 11 new or extended scenes as well. The purpose of those new scenes is rather questionable as they don&#39;t add anything to the movie at all. In Britain, the Director&#39;s Cut was released as well. Unfortunately, like several other movies, two scenes in which a butterfly knife is used, had to be edited in order to get the BBFC 18 rating.
